Awkwafina

Awkwafina started out as an American performer and rapper, performing sly tunes that dealt with questions of race and sexuality with a humorous twist. Prior to her move into Hollywood her career, she could make a few songs. Nora Lum is the daughter of Chinese and Korean parents in Forest Hills Queens. The trumpet was Nora's first instrument. Following her Jazz and classical training her interest in hip-hop grew as a teen. When she was in college, she concentrated on her studies and took up a degree in women's studies and journalism. In a short period of time, in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were also offered. It wasn't until she graduated that her focus shift to music. The year 2012 saw My Vag (as a retort to Mickey Avalon's My Dick) became an online hit, and it was featured in her debut album Yellow Ranger. The album also featured viral hit tracks, such as body-positive Queef & winking home tour NYC BitcheUSD. This song is directly tied to Awkwafina's NYC, a 2015 travel guide. In addition to having published a book, her other career was singing. In addition to early television shows such as Girl Code and Tawk, she has also been featured in movies like Neighbors2Storks, and Bad Rap. In the year 2018 she scored a number of major roles like Dude Ocean's 8 or Crazy Rich Asians. That June she issued the EP In Fina We Trust.
