Catherine Ford is a British actress who was born in Bloomsbury. When her father left her family members, she was brought to maturity by her mother, grandparents, and godparents. Ford suffered from anxiety disorder caused by the word association when she was a toddler. Ford began acting during her teens, and was an actor in the National Youth Theatre. Ford was accepted into the Sylvia Young Theatre School, but decided after a week that she wasn't a good for the school. Ford rather than applying for admission to Central School of Speech and Drama and getting a spot at the third time, applied and won acceptance to Central School of Speech and Drama. Shaun Dingwall was one of Ford's fellow students. The actor would go on to have regular roles in the shows Pete Tyler and Doctor Who. Ford graduated in 1993, but she already made a TV appearance in a 1992 episode of Surgical Spirit. She adopted the name Catherine Tate. Tate appeared in TV programs such as The Bill, Men Behaving Badly as well as London's Burning in the Nineties. The regular theatre work she performed led her to join The Royal Shakespeare Company, for the 2000-2001 season. Tate became famous for her stand-up comedies, which were added to Tate's repertoire in 1996.
